This year marks many exciting changes, one of them being the opening of the first Master in Finance intake to benefit from our recently launched FinTech specialization last September 4, 2018.

IE Business School is the first school in Europe to offer a Masters in Finance with a specialization in Fintech. Students will have the opportunity to focus on fields like blockchain, crowdfunding, cryptocurrencies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence in the finance industry, algorithm management, or alpha generation platforms, all of which provide powerful tools to tackle challenges thrown up in the field of financial management in a world that has been transformed by technology.

While 75% of our students have studied business administration, finance, or economics and 10% come from an engineering, math or statistics background, our program is open to all who are passionate about finance.

The Opening Ceremony was attended by a variety of speakers, one of which was Iñigo Fernadez de Mesa, Chairman of Rothschild Spain who gave very interesting insights on the industry. We also invited our Director of Careers, Irina Zilbergleyt, former Investment Banker, who talked about the changes in the financial industry and the different career opportunities in FinTech.

This year’s intake has also witnessed an increase in students from Asia Pacific and

Latin America as well as a rise in female students. We have also launched this year several scholarships for Women in Finance and are excited to see the corresponding increase in females eager to work in finance. We are represented by over 27 nationalities in this intake who speak on average 3 languages.  The interest of our students is as diverse as their nationalities. Hobbies of our students include producing electronic music, dancing ballet playing on the national water polo team of Portugal, being a Spanish opera singer, playing professional basketball in Sweden, and many more. The Admissions Committee looks favorably and encourages involvement in different extra-curricular activities, as we believe it adds to a holistic growth. IE Business School encourages students to continue these hobbies by offering over 100 different students clubs on campus!

We are eager to begin yet another exciting journey with all these talented young professionals and help them in every way we can to achieve their goals. Welcome, Master in Finance Class of 2018!
