ABOUT THE EVENT During the past 15 years, global equity markets went through a complete transformation. The open outcry market places were replaced by electronic platforms that are now able to process millions of orders and traders in microseconds. This Virtual Master Class will give an overview of the current equity market structure and will cover some of the more recent challenges such as high frequency trading, dark pools and a critical discussion of the value to the investor.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dan is currently in the process of setting up his own business in Hong Kong catering to the innovation needs of both investors and financial services institutions. Until very recently, he was the Head of IT at HSBC’s Investment Bank in Singapore and Japan. He was also the COO for HSBC Securities (Singapore) Pte Limited – the entity to provide access to the Singapore Stock Market (SGX) for the Global Equities Business. His work experience spans over close to 15 years in Investment Banking Technology working for companies like UBS in Germany and the UK, Barclays Capital in Singapore and Tokyo as well as Close Brothers in his hometown Frankfurt. In many cases he was the link between technology and the various business departments. In 2013 he graduated from the Master of Science in Innovation program at SMU in Singapore, his residence since 2009.

We look forward to welcoming you to this event. Please contact MIF.admissions@ie.edu for further information or visit our Masters in Finance Programs webpage.
